Free Oorah CD - Packed with All-New Jewish Music and Entertainment
(PRWEB) April 3, 2008 -- This year's Oorah CD (http://www.oorah.org/auction/2008/cd_08.html), cleverly masquerading its way into mailboxes as an everything-bagel, is sure to satisfy any pre-Passover craving with a well-deserved break.
Performing artists include five of the most talented singers in the Jewish music world today: Mordechai Ben David, Avraham Fried, Shloimy Daskal, Shloimy Dachs, Yosef Chaim Bloch and the mystery winner of Oorah's "audition".
The CD-ROM will provide hours of multimedia enjoyment suitable for the whole family.
Little ones will be entertained by a brand new visual presentation of Abie Rotenberg's classic tape "Marvelous Middos Machine", created especially for Oorah and starring the Herman Brothers' puppets. Follow the journey of Dr. Middos and his assistant Shnooky Shapiro as they teach children the virtues of having good middos.
Everyone will enjoy a light-hearted dramatization of Journey's song "Sfashkenaz". Two next-door neighbors, who seemingly have nothing in common, learn the importance of crossing the cultural lines with unity.
Also included is a moving look at Oorah's kiruv mission in a newly re-edited version of "The Kiruv Journey".
The six audio tracks on the CD were produced exclusively for Oorah.
The first audio track kicks off with the talent of Yosef Chaim Bloch, a fresh new voice on the Jewish music scene. Replete with a rich sounding choir, he not only gives the song, Avinu Malkeinu, an infusion of toe-tapping ruach with his stirring singing - he is also the composer.
The heartfelt longing of Yehi Ratzon, composed by Michal Rosenberg, is magnificently conveyed by Shloimy Daskal. His warm vocals bring a depth to the melody, which both uplifts and inspires.
Geulah Sheleimah features the teamwork of legends Moshe Laufer and Avraham Fried. The riveting, upbeat rhythm of this song reflects our hope and prayer that Hashem will indeed bring the geulah sheleimah.
In Ve'al Hakol, Shloimy Dachs duets with his son, Dovid, in a song penned by Yaakov Paneth. The listener is treated to the beautiful harmony in which their voices so naturally blend.
The fifth cut, Retzei - also the backdrop for an exciting glance at the dozens of fabulous prizes featured in Oorah's Chinese Auction - is a hauntingly moving tune composed by Boruch Levine, performed by Audition winner Sruly Werdyger. The singer's mellifluous vocals deliver power and emotion, and capture this song as it was meant to be heard.
Mordechai Ben David performs the final track, Oorah Nah, which he also wrote himself. The words, melody and upbeat rhythm of this poignant song combine to create pure inspiration.
The Oorah Chinese Auction (http://www.oorah.org/auction/2008/5_prize.htm) second mailing comes not only to entertain, but to remind every Jew of the vitally important mission of our generation - to reach out to the millions of disconnected Jewish souls and help them find their rightful place in Klal Yisrael.
By enrolling children in yeshiva, giving them a meaningful summer at BoyZone or GirlZone camps (http://www.jewishgirlzone.com/), learning Torah with their parents, helping them learn to observe Shabbos and celebrate Yomim Tovim and so much more, Oorah has taken on the mission. Each Chinese Auction dollar helps support these effective, successful programs, making every donor a vital part of the journey to Judaism (http://www.gottorah.com/) for the more than 1,800 families Oorah serves.
